Easy Fermented Garlic Honey

One of the simplest ferments on the planet. Garlic cloves in honey sitting on your countertop...that's it!
Prep Time 5 minutes

Equipment

  • 1 Knife
  • 1 Cutting Board
  • 1 glass jar with lid
  • optional glass jar with airlock lid

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups raw honey

Instructions
 

  • Peel the garlic and very lightly smash the cloves with the side of your knife.
  • Place cloves in a clean jar. Pour in honey until it generously covers the garlic cloves.
  • Loosely screw on a lid and store it out of direct sunlight.
  • Burp your lid once per day and turn over jar to recoat all garlic.
  • It will be ready in about 1 month but you can sample it sooner. The longer it ferments, the better it gets. Enjoy!

Notes

You must use raw honey, and fresh garlic. 
Use a large enough jar for some head space at the top.
Make sure to store out of direct sunlight, at room temperature.
